Amy is our Senior Account Executive and has worked in the Mask team for a little over a year. She actually started out at our sister company Venueseeker but joined us so she could be fully immersed in the world of events. When Amy isn’t working, she can usually be found in a nice little pub in Borough Market enjoying a glass of rosé whilst planning her next trip abroad! Here’s Amy’s Instaview so you can get to know her better.
Where is the last place that you went on holiday?
I went to Portugal at the end of August with my lovely family. We have been going to the same place in the Algarve for ten years, so it’s a home-from-home which means full-on relaxation and visiting our favourite lunch and dinner spots!
Where is your favourite place in London?
Borough Market hands down! Whether you want to look around all the amazing food stalls, pick up some ostrich burgers (which are delicious!), go for a coffee (Rabot 1745 is my favourite) or go for a drink after work (The Wheatsheaf is my weekly hangout), it has everything. There are also some lovely little florists that do beautiful but really reasonable bouquets. Another of my favourite places to go is Soho – again there is such a variety of places to go. The Ivy Brasserie is one of my top three lunch spots – you can always count on the food being amazing and the décor is really cool. Balthazar – their mac and cheese…yum, and Barrafina are the other two.
What is the best event you’ve worked on with Mask?
My best has to be my very first event for Mask – where I did all of the theming for a book launch at The Mondrian. This event really allowed me to use my creative side, which I loved! Plus, being my first event, I felt a great sense of achievement and it was a brilliant one to get stuck in to: I read the book so I could cherry pick my favourite details and recreate the world of ‘Nevermoor’!
What is your favourite venue in London?
St Pancras Renaissance in Kings Cross – the minute you walk in, it feels so special and full of character with a great atmosphere. All of the events spaces in the hotel are beautiful, from the Booking Office to Hansom Hall, which is amazing for a Christmas party. They also have really quirky pop ups, this summer they had a Fever Tree pop up, and as a big gin lover, it soon became a regular spot for my friends and I.
Give us an interesting fact about yourself
I am learning to play golf at the moment, which is much harder than I imagined! I try and go to the driving range every week and my aim is to be able to play a round next summer. I am slowly getting there, but still have a long way to go!
