Paris Fashion Week kicked off last week with the men’s collection, but this week saw the haute couture range hit the catwalks and we were very impressed with the Dior Spring Summer Show by Maria Grazia Chiuri.
The venue, Musée Rodin was transformed into a surrealist monochrome dream, with a checker board floor, black and white seating, giant black bird cages and white body parts suspended from the ceiling. The models had heavy eye makeup and slicked back hair to allow the clothes to take centre stage.
Here are our favourites from the show:
We’re loving the contrast of the full length skirt and barely there top. Probably not suitable for work!
Another high neck on this one, but softened by the lace and tulle material of the skirt. It’s a strong but feminine look.
The layers of feathers are great! Apparently it was inspired by an earlier design from 1949 and is a nod to Surrealist’s fondness of birds and flight.
Back to black, but with white hand-painted and re-embroidered detail on this floor length gown.
