Penny Porter’s Top Venues for 2014

Mask’s bespoke events are statement pieces. Whilst the magic lies in bespoke theming and production, it is the venues that always provide the ultimate blank canvas. From the grand galleries of the Victoria & Albert Museum to lesser-known hidden gems where it’s all about the authenticity, the Mask team have the little black book to beat all others.

A handful of brand new and lesser-known venues are set to steal the show in 2014, from the roof of a former cardboard box factory in Dalston to a luxurious manor house that provides the ultimate countryside retreat.

We’ve found a Clerkenwell landmark to create that all-important dramatic first impression, a creative space with less than glamorous beginnings and a top secret museum with a grisly past. If that doesn’t whet your appetite perhaps the Georgian charm of our stunning Soho space will – this is the spot where elegance and eccentricity blend seamlessly.

If you’ve managed to secure a ticket to the hottest restaurant in town you’ll recognise our industrial event space, where a palette of steel mesh, timber and concrete is accompanied by the most incredible menu in the capital. And if it’s a Baroque courtesan parlour you’re after you just might find what you’re looking for when our top 10 venues for 2014 are revealed.

The new jewel in our crown? We’ll give you a clue. All the world’s a stage. And that stage speaks of a dirty, dangerous past. Here you’ll find all the theatre of a bygone era, and a unique style of ruined grandeur.

Keep your eye on our blog in the New Year, when we’ll be revealing the identities of all ten of our venue picks for 2014.
